Meet Us

Ciara Sturm, CT
(she/her/hers)

Ciara is a Counselor Trainee who is currently studying at Xavier University.  She graduated from Northern Kentucky University with degrees in Psychology and Human Services and Addictions.
Ciara has experience working in behavioral health services and with children and adolescents ranging in age from birth to 18 years old. She has additional experience serving in community groups of college-aged individuals. Ciara has a passion for serving the younger generation and building them up by using strength-based therapy with compassion and empathy.

A defining quote of her work is by Friedrich Nietzsche, “He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.”  She believes that individuals find disturbances in their life when they lack purpose.  Her approach explores existential and person-centered theories, believing that solutions can be found within the client through exploration of strengths and self-acceptance.

Additionally, Ciara enjoys Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, centered on the idea that distorted or untrue thinking patterns can often be the cause of disruptive feelings and actions.

Outside of counseling, Ciara enjoys living an active life: filled with time with friends, running/walking, and lots of coffee.

She is working under the supervision of Laura Edwards, LPCC-S.
