Meet Us

Marisa Ellis, CT

Marisa is a Counselor Trainee who is currently studying at Xavier University. She graduated from Indiana University with degrees in Comparative Literature, Spanish, and Business.

A defining quote of Marisa’s approach to therapy is from Carl Rogers: “People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying, “Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner.” I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.” She believes in each person’s unique abilities and strengths that allow them to be the exact person they are meant to be. By providing a safe, judgement-free, and healing environment she will work alongside you on your therapeutic journey. Marisa is supervised by Laura Edwards, LPCC-S.

Some of Marisa’s greatest joys are helping clients unlock their own potential and overcome life challenges. She also has a special interest in working with parents and helping them to create flourishing relationships with their children.

Outside of the counseling office Marisa has a deep love for literature, playing sports, and music. You can find her walking her dog Jellybean around Cincinnati or attempting to beat someone on the pickleball court.
